On I Have Thoughts About Commenting Systems!
I rarely comment, so I don't know how much I have to contribute. I actually just decided to comment here because I couldn't remember what my commenter # was and wanted to find out. Also, to be a part of a secret comment thread, how fun is that?
I will say that I've used other sites that have Disqus and it's not terrible? But it does always seem like it takes extra time to load. Like, the post will load normally, then there's a delay while Disqus fills in below. I don't know enough about code and whatnot to understand why the current system is bad, but it never gives me any loading issues.
Also, now that I've written Disqus a couple times, I think it's a silly and sort of awkward name. Disqus. Disqus Disqus Disqus. Great, now I hate it.
