This isn't Rupaul's Best Friend Race.
@pissy elliott And if you don't have insurance, go to Psychology Today's website, search through the therapist listings and tell them what you can pay. It may not be a lot! But you won't know until you ask.
Hi LW. I'm a gay man with a lot of anxiety, too, and my heart aches for you. I hope you take the advice in Polly's response to heart. Not to be terse or anything. Finding good resources for affordable mental health is really, really tough -- that was my struggle in getting help. My honest advice is to find a list of therapists your insurer covers, and go down that list and make 3 appointments. Or just pick the first person who even takes your call, which is what I did, and after years, gave me immeasurable (if imperfect) relief.
I'm going to see The Junket 2: Junk Harder instead of this AV club nonsense
@SilviaWong99 Why haven't you guys offered Silvia an Awl internship? She is certainly prolific!
@antarctica starts here I was linked to this article by a Gen X-er whose considered, critical assessment was: "!!!"
Dear The Awl,
This was a very mean way to make me think that Letters to the Editors of Women's Magazines was coming back. Please do not contact me again.

Someone do a 4-part Tina Brown miniseries that's part Paper Giants part You'll Never Eat Lunch In This Town Again, get Naomi Watts to star
I'm a year late, but I made this around the time it was posted, and it's been a staple in my repertoire ever since. I made a double batch last night, in fact, for lunch during the week. It is so good.
@Setec Astrology How many needlepoint throw pillows does one apartment need? HOW MANY UNTIL YOU ARE SATISFIED?
